About the FACT Family Center

The FACT Family Center is a family support and information center that serves families of children from birth to age 18 years, who experience a developmental disability in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties.  The work to create the FACT Family Center began in January 2009 with Family and Community Together’s receipt of a contract from the Department of Human Services.  Each of the three County Developmental Disability Programs works together as our partner in this endeavor, referring families to the FACT Family Center.

The purpose of the FACT Family Center is to provide general resource and disability-specific information, referral assistance, family-to-family networking opportunities, and training opportunities for families in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties.  We know that each time we meet a family will be unique.  Most of our interactions will typically include one or more of the following:

Appreciating the capacity, strength, empowerment, and tenacity of families, the FACT Family Center is committed to providing services and support developed “by families for families.”

Two partners in starting the FACT Family Center are Disability Compass and the Oregon Technical Assistance Corporation.  They will contribute greatly, with their presence and input reflected in a variety of activities.

Welcome Flyers introducing the FACT Family Center are available below in English, Spanish, and Russian for downloading, printing, and distribution.
